We host monthly repair events that are free to low-cost. Call the shop or visit our socials to check for current events.

 FAQs

  • Oh so many reasons! Repair extends the life of objects, reducing the need to purchase new items, and therefore reduces waste and conserves valuable natural resources. Repair also offers valuable opportunities for skills to be passed between community members and generations. Finally, repair brings us together - neighbors, helping neighbors - with our community growing more resilient in the process!

  • Almost anything! Small electronics, appliances, textiles and clothing, tools, bicycles, toys… the list goes on!

    Prohibited items include: all firearms, gas or diesel powered engines, objects too large to be safely carried inside by one person, unwashed clothing/textiles, objects emitting fumes, noise, or chemicals, anything containing hazardous materials.

  • Yes! Please bring a repair/owners manual if you have one. If you know that your object needs a new part, please purchase that beforehand and bring it along. For clothing repairs, if you would prefer a certain color thread/patch/zipper/etc please come with that in tow.

  • Upcoming dates are listed at the top of this page and on our events page. Currently monthly Repair Cafes are held on the first Wednesday evening of each month from 6-8pm at Waste Loop’s Eastside Rebuild in Cashmere. We also organize sporadic pop-ups up and down the Valley with partner organizations!

  • No. Because we value to relationships built and knowledge exchanged during the repair process, come prepared to sit with your item and its fixer. You may just learn a new skill or make a new friend in the process!

  • No, repairs are first come first serve. Some events may be busier than others and there is no guarantee that your items will be fixed right away. A fixer will help you as soon as they are available and in the meantime, enjoy chatting with others in attendance and maybe even learn a new skill.

  • No. However, if it is a busy day we can’t guarantee that all of your items will be fixed.

  • -Attend our events and encourage others to do the same.

    -Volunteer as a fixer or greeter

    -Financial donations to Waste Loop help support community programs such as Repair Cafes.

If a part needs to be purchased our volunteer will discuss options with you and if time allows can help you identity where to purchase a replacement. Repairs are not guaranteed, and we cannot be held responsible for any damage made in attempt to repair items.
